Mercury /Hermes/The Messenger of the gods , is stationing and getting ready to go retrograde. You can probably feel it now, but it goes retrograde from the 3rd of Dec. (same day as the last full moon of the year), until the 23rd of Dec. then the integration period is through the 11th of January.
When Mercury is retrograde it is time to SLOW Down and be still as much as possible…listening to you your guides, inquiring deeply into your unconscious or what ever ways that you pray or meditate or listen to the guidance of the subtle wisdom’s that are most powerful! With this particular Mercury cycle we may do well to listen to our thoughts and words more……to really feel those thought and words…and perhaps eve more importantly the space between them. The reason I say this is because our Moon is Full in the sign of Gemini that very day. Gemini is ruled by Mercury, so maybe exploring the subtly energy of all sorts of language and communication will be on the agenda as well. Education may also be a mood that takes us into enquiry about what we need to learn …for greater understanding. The Gemini Archetype according to the Shamanic Astrology paradigm is The Eternal Youth, the Divine Comedian, Heyoka-Coyote woman, Shapeshifter ,The Entertainer Connected to Her Creative Muse.
So this is going to be very interesting Full Moon, where our inner Peter Pan can come out and play…and we can help her with her performance by slowing the thought processes and staying grounded to be able to feel the natural heartbeat of our mother…this will help us!
Mercury as Hermes. Messenger of the gods is the translator of all languages…that of the spirit and the heart and of nature as well as all levels and realities and perceptions that we can understand. The profound experiences that go beyond thought might even be assisted by Hermes..for it depends on how the gods speak to us, and how well we have learned to let go of the trickster mind to be able to listen! But when we sort of come back into the everyday mind after drinking into some deep quiet…then our Mercury is still there, as the part that translates…and brings the message for us to work with. This can come in ideas, feelings, intuitions, songs , art, inpulses for new ways to say things…etc.
With this Mercury retrograde it will be right there with Saturn in Sag. aligned very closely with the galactic center.
I would say this brings some seriousness to the whole archetype of the quest of truth and meaning, as well as time and responsibility!
So spend some time asking your inner self about these questions in regard to your own life!
When we don’t Honor Mercury as Hermes, he turns into the trickster! this is when things seem to go haywire…maybe the computer gets jammed up, or the traffic is super bad, or there is a breakdown in communication with a loved one…or there is depression, or what ever….it is because the natural timings know what is best..Nature Knows Best!…time to go inward a little and reverse back inward,re-calibrate…listen to the soft voice of your heart…or the voice of the wind and how it touches you, how it sounds, how it feels, how the air smells…and all the ways that nature communicates with our spirits!
Our cultural ethos has not been harmony with natural law or timings…that is one reason astrology can be so helpful now as it is all about the natural cycles! We are in a huge period of breaking apart…to start to rebuild. This Mercury retrograde and Full moon are just a small cycle within many other cycles…. but I feel a very important one.
So between now, as Mercury slows down and, as it is retrograde from the 3rd of Dec. until the 22nd of Dec. And then the integration period is from then until the 11th of January. This is the time to bring what you got from listening and slowing down, to action or to physicality in some way…into your life.
This is a very important time for all of us now! So please spend an honorable amount of time with this for your own well being and for getting clear about how to show up and shine in 2018 and for living in good, balanced natural ways as we pave the way for a sustainable future on this most beautiful of planets that gives us everything our Mother Gaia!
